24 November 2021 ~ A date that may seem very ordinary to most of us but highly critical and important to the Primary 6 students who took their PSLE this year. That’s because the results of this year’s PSLE will be released then, and soon after, the Secondary 1 Posting process will begin.
So, what do you need to know?
The Details – When, Where, How can results be collected?
- Students can receive their results from their respective primary schools. The time starts from 11 am onwards.
- One parent or guardian will be allowed to accompany the student to school. But will have to wait at the designated area.
- Safe Management Measures will be put in place by the school. Make sure to follow the instructions.
- Students and parents who were issued the Ministry of Health’s health risk warning can receive their results in person if they test negative using the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) on the day of the results.
- Those who are currently in isolation or feeling unwell should not go to collect their results in person. For such students, there are two alternative options available:
- They can access their results online via Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board’s (SEAB) Candidates Portal at www.seab.gov.sg. The portal stays open from 11.45 am on 24th November to 7th December 2021.
- The next option is to assign a proxy to collect a physical copy of your results by Friday, 26th November. They can receive the results after furnishing proper documents at the school.
- If you are unable to do either, contact the school for assistance.
What next?
Choosing options for S1
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has already released the indicative PSLE Score ranges for individual secondary schools. You can use it as a guide to select the secondary schools your child has the best chance to get into under the Achievement Level (AL) scoring system. Keep in mind that PSLE scores shouldn’t be the only factors while making your choice. While choosing a school, consider factors like your child’s interests, strengths, and weaknesses, your financial situation, distance from home, and others. You can read our article on choosing Secondary school for more detailed info.
Visit the campus in person to determine whether it’s a good choice for your children. Some resources that might be of use are:

Secondary 1 Posting
The secondary 1 options form will be given to eligible students, along with their results, on 24 November. You can also download it from the Secondary 1 Internet System (S1-IS) using your unique S1 Personal Identification Number (S1 PIN). If you haven’t received one from your school at the end of Term 4, contact your school authorities. You can submit your application via The S1-IS from 11.30 am Wednesday, 24th November to 3.00 pm Tuesday, 30th November.
The link for the website is: www.moe.gov.sg/s1-posting
You can also contact your primary school for assistance to submit the request on time.
Announcement of Secondary 1 postings
The results of the S1 posting will be released between 22nd December and 24th December 2021. It will be accessible through different channels.
- Results will be sent via SMS to the number provided by the applicant during the application process.
- Through the S1-IS portal using the applicant’s Birth Certificate Number / FIN and the S1 Pin
- You can also get the results from your children’s primary school.
After receiving the results, consult the website of your allotted school to see information about further steps. There will be info on online purchases of books and uniforms, booklist, and reporting details. Parents who are on Parents gateway will also receive instructions from the posted schools.
If, for any reason, your children are unable to report to their secondary schools on the first day of school in January 2022, contact the posted secondary school and explain your reasons. Confirm that you are taking up the place so that they can reserve it for your children.
More information is available at MOE’s S1 posting website.
At the end of the day, do remember that even though the PSLE is important, it does not always guarantee the success of our children in their academic journey in secondary school and beyond. With hard work and good support, all children will be able to reach their fullest potential.
We wish you and your children all the best for the next step in their academic journey! 🙂
