Youth Day 2021- Let’s celebrate our children’s youth!
National Youth Day in Singapore is on the first Sunday of July every year, and the following Monday is a holiday for schools. It coincides with the beginning of the second academic semester of the year and this year’s Youth Day falls on the 4th of July!
Time to end the Toxicity
A few days ago, a disturbing video emerged from one of Singapore’s oldest and popular higher education institutions. The harrowing video of harassment that got circulated depicted a group of students from the institution urinating on the backs of two naked students. The video has been panned by all sections of Singaporean society and the concerned institution has announced stringent measures against the perpetrators of this act of bullying.

It is often the case that we realize the value of something only after we lose it. Sometimes, some of us never even get the chance for this realization. Certain harrowing incidents make this more evident.
How can our kids be safe online?
Throw a stone and if it lands on a group of youths, chances are that almost 90% of them would be hooked onto their mobile gadgets. Not just youths, but adults are guilty of this habit as well. How long do our kids spend before their gadgets, surfing through the internet? What content do they come across and consume via online platforms? How much privacy should we allow our kids to possess with regard to their online activities?
