In this age of technology, there is less need to write anything by hand. With classes being virtual and notes sent online, there is no need for children to write anymore. People now think of writing by hand as some primitive activity, having no intentions to use a pen and paper unless absolutely necessary.

Screen time is the obvious concern of the present-day Singaporean parent. How much is too much? During the past year, there has been a significant shift to online learning. Households had to ease the screen time restrictions placed on kids. An obsession with gadgets and the online domain is the biggest threat to effective time management. What needs to be done here?
Choosing the right CCA in schools
What are my child’s talents? What activity or interest will best serve his/her career prospects? How much time and energy should you invest in CCAs? CCAs are co-curricular activities that students are encouraged to take on in school, to enable them to have a more holistic education. These are some common doubts that can pop up in the minds of parents while helping their kids pick CCAs. When there is no clear-cut option, students themselves tend to get confused as well.
How can I memorise better?
More often than not we tend to overload our brains with information while learning. What is the logical consequence of this action? You are unable to access the right information at the right time. Is there a way around this? Can you memorise things in a better manner? Yes, you can! And yes, you should develop a learning style that allows you to remember content better.

Nature or Nurture – Picking your CCAs!
Should we focus on nurturing new skills or just try to build and improve the ones that we naturally possess? Do we face this same issue while choosing and trying to get into Co-curricular Activities (CCAs)? Since we are taking a break from our CCAs now due to Covid-19, let’s take a dive into whether Nature or Nurture of skills and talents matters more.
Reading – Are you doing it the right way?
We all know the benefits of reading – improved comprehension skills, enhanced knowledge about various subject matter, the list is endless. The real question to ask then is – How many of us actually read? No, we’re not talking about reading comics, or tabloid news on social media platforms. We’re talking about the actual pick up of the novel, read and thumb through each page type of reading. There you have it, most of us are guilty of not reading as extensively as we ought to.
How Do I Stop Forgetting What I’ve Learned So Quickly?
All of our learning can be broadly classified into two divisions. One – where we invest a lot of time and put in all the hard work to learn our subjects of interest. Second – where we just rely on last-minute mugging just for the immediate purpose of clearing exams.
Technology – Use all or Know all?
Knowingly or unknowingly, we fall prey to this “competition”. We take photographs and post them, wishing that we get more likes as compared to our friends. But, what we forget is that if we are not careful, the information that we share on the internet can be used against us. Whenever you fill the “about us” section of any social media platform, post images or share information, you need to realize that that particular platform is going to collect all the information that you have provided and use it for some other purpose.
How to be happy? Remain curious!
Any adult spending time with kids would frequently encounter the above-mentioned questions. According to experts, high and consistent levels of curiosity contributes to mental well-being and life satisfaction. They also say curiosity is the secret sauce ingredient to a happy and fulfilling life.
