The 88tuition master classes start this week!
They are free, effective, and provide one of the best learning experiences your child can get to gear up for the PSLE.
If you haven’t signed up already, you can go to 88tuition and register for the classes now. If you have registered and are looking forward to attending our classes, you might want to ensure that you do everything to make the most out of these classes
So, what can you do to get the most out of these classes?
- Ensure a good internet connection
Check the internet connection and ensure that it is stable and won’t get disconnected during the sessions. Interruptions can be annoying to children and disrupt the flow of learning. During this time, when everything has gone online, investing in a good internet connection is vital.
- Start on time
People can get carefree about online classes. Many join late and often drop off and get back many times according to their convenience. Ensure that your children log in to the sessions on time, and they don’t go off to do other things in between.
- Check the topics before the sessions
The topics of classes for each week are available on the website. Check these out early and glance through them. Prepare questions and doubts you might have.
Also, don’t worry if you are joining just now and couldn’t attend any previous classes. You can click on the ‘past lessons’ link to see the recordings of the completed masterclasses.
- Look at the prerequisites and learn them thoroughly
For some lessons, prerequisites are available on the website. Read through the material posted and prepare well. It will be needed to make sense of the topics covered in the masterclass. Learn these topics so that you can understand the subjects covered better.
- Keep materials you might need nearby
Keep reference materials like textbooks and notes nearby so that you can check them in case of any doubts or to mark any portions that the teacher says are significant. Keep stationary and any other things you might need nearby so that you won’t have to waste time to get them in the middle of a lesson.
- Prepare a good learning environment and block out distractions
Ensure that your children have a good learning environment. Give them space where they are not disturbed by other things happening at home or by any potential visitors. Don’t let other family members interrupt their sessions or distract them in between.
- Parents also need to keep an eye on the children
Although it is advised not to disturb your children, it is best not to leave them alone during the time. Keep an eye on them at times. As stated earlier, students often act carefree during online classes, and there are many things to distract them on their laptops or other gadgets they use to attend the classes. Make sure that your children are attending the classes and paying proper attention.
- Students- Hold yourself accountable
There is a limit to what parents can do to make children learn. Ultimately, it is up to the students to decide whether they are effectively using these facilities available to them.
For students, you must understand the importance of these classes. And how much good it would do to attend them with proper focus and motivation. Since classes have moved online, many students find it hard to keep up with the lessons and understand the concepts clearly. Supplementary sessions like these can help you understand better and make sense of anything that might have gone over your head in the online classes conducted by your school. You have access to different experts who are capable of clearing all your doubts. So, make sure you use this opportunity that is available to you.
- Take notes
Keep a notebook and pen with you during the classes. Take notes and write down any point that you feel is important. Make a detailed note of all the lessons and go through them once the session has ended. Writing by hand has many advantages over just listening to classes or reading pre-made materials. Notes written by hand can help you learn things better, and they also stay in your memory longer.
- Evaluate what you learned after each masterclass
After each class, take some time and evaluate what you just learned. Try to recall the topics and points to your mind, and write down any subject you need to study more.
- Connect with your teachers – Feedback is appreciated
The contact details of the teachers are available on our website. You can contact them and ask your doubts. You can also request topics to include in upcoming masterclasses. We are always open to hearing your opinions and needs.
